Daytime Justice

The Westside Bar Association hosted a Making A Murder event and Dean Strang was on the panel. I'm smart so I showed up at 4pm to try to get something for the podcast. I made contact but didn't get anything THIS TIME. But next time... next time, folks! It's just me in this episode and I re-cap the event, which was stellar. It was really cool to be the outsider looking in. All of the lawyers there were really smart, but I can guarantee that a litigant never threw dog food at them after a case. So I've got that on 'em.

Bridget is a comedian who has had two talk shows on Logo, was Queen Latifah's side kick on her daytime talk show, and has shot four comedy specials. She's also one of the only women working as a warm up comic today on live shows taped in Los Angeles. She has an interesting journey as a performer and comedian in the talk show and daytime talk show world! She has always inspired me and hearing her story inspired me even more.

Mark Ebner is an investigative reporter who has penned 9 books and written for every major magazine there is. He has such an interesting story and I have to have him on again. He knows a lot and he always searches for the truth. He put Scientology on blast in the early 90s by going on the inside and then writing about it for Spy magazine. Then, he consulted on the "Trapped In The Closet" episode of "Southpark." You can find more of his articles and purchase his books on his website: www.hollywoodinterrupted.com

Comedian and actor Jerome Cleary talks about the time he was on Moral Court back in 2000, a court show that awarded people based on whether or not they used their morals or even had any morals. Larry Elder played the judge. What's cool about this episode is Jerome then talks about every game show he's ever done. I had no idea and I've known him for at least 6 years. It's a very interesting and insightful chat about the game show contestant process. Also, you can see what actors do to pay the bills and get some TV exposure.

Conflict-resolution shows are shows like Dr. Phil, Bill Cunningham, Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show, etc. For producers, it's conflict-conflict-long hours-please help-more conflict. I talk to a former producer for the now canceled show "The Test."
